Public transport
Arriving at Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS), it is the most convenient to catch the surburban train (S-Bahn) S11 to Düsseldorf Main Station (Hauptbahnhof). You have to buy a ticket from a ticket machine Zone A3 (2.80 €), which is valid all the way to the institute – you have to buy it before you enter the train! S11 is leaving directly from the airport terminal every 20 min (30 min off-peak). You will find the departure station easily when leaving the luggage area. It is located one level lower, but it is well signposted and next to the exit of the luggage area, you will find escalators directed to it. As an alternative you may take the AirTrain to Airport Railway Station and catch any RE or S to Düsseldorf Main Station. There, you have to change to U79 (basement floor) until "Südpark", where you catch bus 735 until stop "Universität-Mensa". However, from Main Station there are a plenty of other opportunities to get to the Campus (please see VRR journey planner), but the closest stop to our department is definitively "Universität-Mensa" (see also the red line at the map below). Here you may also check, how to proceed: From the bus stop, cross below the pedestrian bridge until after approximately 100 m a small alley shows up at the left – there you will recognize at the right side a very red, two-story building (22.04, red encircled at the site plan below), where our Department is located. Enter the main entrance and use the telephone switchboard to contact one of our team or the NMR lab. In total approximately 30 min from Main Station.

Taxi
To Universitätsstraße, Bus Stop "Mensa/Universität". When you leave the taxi, enter the campus near the pedestrian bridge (see also the red line at the map below) and continue as described above.

Car
Leave the motorway A46 at exit Düsseldorf "Zentrum/Universität" to Witzelstraße.Turn left at the first crossing into the Universitätsstraße. Follow this street until the Bus Stop "Mensa/Universität" under the foot-bridge. Watch out for parking and enter the campus via the foot-bridge. Then continue as described above. Alternatively, you may turn left approximately 100 m after the foot-bridge into a small alley, where you are allowed to park briefly to load and unload. Follow this gateway you will find our institute (Molekulare Kardiologie) at the right hand side (building 22.04, very red; for your convenience take notice of the green line at the map below).
